Information about curriculum
Kide Science is a supplementary STEAM curriculum. Our lessons enhance pre-existing core curriculums with hands-on, skills-based activities rooted in play: this is the most developmentally appropriate way for young children to learn. In a Kide lesson, children are encouraged to role play as investigators, which means they then act as investigators! This achieves our goal: for children to develop crucial science process skills instead of only their conceptual understanding. Science process skills (such as observation, classification, measuring and prediction), can be applied across all curriculum areas. And so, Kide provides lesson plans to suit many relevant cross-curricular topic themes, subjects and skills including Literacy, Physical Development, Social and Emotional learning and Geography. Teachers can flexibly use our lesson bundles, our search bar and our filter tabs to find a lesson plan that will enhance their timetables. With Kide, children can develop skills over time, over many contexts and in lessons that are meaningful to a child’s own interests.
